I'm a self-taught artist who experiments with pen and ink, paint, and found objects. Abstracts based on science and California coastal flora and fauna are current themes in my art. I carefully research my subjects in order to derive a deeper understanding and convey greater appreciation for each.
I'm a native Californian who spent 25 years as a science writer and educational outreach director at the California Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and University of Michigan. In those roles, I brought artists, business professionals, educators, scientists and engineers together to produce films, print and electronic products, and art installations that effectively translated scientific and engineering concepts for the public sector. With Art Center College of Design and Pasadena Armory for the Arts, I co-curated AxS: At the Intersection of Art & Science, an ongoing, city-wide collaborative effort that explores how art and science can influence one another.
I now live in Cambria, CA and spend my time laughing, loving, and giving back through art.
